Geri Ann Glasco Garners Sec Freshman of the Week

I would first like to apologize for how utterly slow I have been this past week on updating the various sections of the blog. I have started a new job that runs M-F from 8-5 and it is depleting the amount of time I have for updating. I promise I will not always be this busy/lazy! 😛

It brings me great pleasure to announce that Geri Ann Glasco was announced by the SEC this week as being the Freshman of the Week for her performance in the Georgia Softball Classic. Geri Ann batted a .636 clip, going 7-11 with a long ball in each of the three games Georgia played this weekend. In the unofficial game that doesn’t count against Northwestern (see the previous blog post), Geri went 1-1 with two walks and yet another long ball–too bad it does not count officially. I can only imagine what these already eye-popping weekly statistics would have looked like had Georgia finished the game officially with Northwestern and Middle Tennessee.

Geri Ann leads the team thus far with average (.520), HR (4), and several other categories, inluding walks and RBIs. It is going to be neat to see what she can do against the likes of Oklahoma, Washington, and Stanford pitching this weekend in Cathedral City at the Mary Nutter Classic, formerly the Cathedral City Classic. Look out for  a preview of this amazing tournament later on tonight.

As always, Go Dawgs!
